Summer in Austin comes with long, hot days, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this wonderful city we call home! There's no shortage of activities and events to enjoy in August, and many even involve A/C. Shows & Performances
On August 4, country star Miranda Lambert takes the stage at Whitewater Amphitheater. Over in Cedar Park Center the next night, Katt Williams is performing his stand-up comedy routine. Whether you're into country music or live comedy, these are two great shows that you do not want to miss.

Enjoy Summer Activity Favorites
While it may be tempting to stay in and enjoy the pool at our apartments near Dripping Springs, there's a handful of summer events happening all around Austin in August. Grab a friend or two and make your way to Zilker Park for Blues on the Green, and enjoy a free show by talented musicians while enjoying the beautiful Austin city skyline. Or, if you haven't already, take a stroll along the South Congress Bridge and watch the bats take flight around sunset.
For sports fans, head up to the Round Rock Express for a day at the ballpark. These are just a handful of the many activities happening in August.
From hot sauce to ice cream, there's a variety of food events happening this month. On August 20th, head to the Mohawk for the 6th annual Quesooff, and sample some of the best queso the city has to offer. Just buy a bag of chips for $5, and spend the day dipping into delicious and creative queso blends from local Austin restaurants and queso aficionados. For your sweet tooth, head to the Austin Ice Cream Festival on August 12th, and enjoy family-friendly activities, contests, and of course, an abundance of ice cream. Last but not least, get your taste buds ready for the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival on August 20th, and take part in one of the worlds largest hot sauce events.
